Fall in New York 2008

There are only a few things about New York that I'll miss when we move on and fall is one of them. These are a few pix of when the leaves first started changing. It grew more & more beautiful every day and I wish I was blessed with the words to give you all the image of their glory in your head. The closest I can come to accurately describing them are they're fluorescent shades of red, yellow, orange & green. God's paintbrush has colors that we'll never be able to imitate, but I hope we can all remember to stop & enjoy them. We tried to gather them and turn them into placemats, but that didn't even truly capture the splendor...

There's no fall season at the Borich house without a whole lot of football. This is Brody Barnum's helmet that Max refused to give up without a fight before Brody's peewee game a couple of weeks ago...I'd hate to see what he did around the house if he had a helmet of his own. He already head butts Joe's bigscreen!

This is Mykah taking a moment to play in the leaves she was gathering for her placemat project... Something else we should stop to do every once in a while!

Carving pumpkins into jack-o-lanterns... Max wasn't that interested, so we thought we'd document a cute face moment!

Finished projects...Mine & Maxi's is the one that looks possessed, Joe & Mykah's is the goofy one. That might accurately describe our family right now. Seriously, I'm entering my 6th month of pregnancy and Max is 2. You can all relate, right?!

HALLOWEEN NIGHT...

Superman & the Witch. Mykah's too cute to be scary, but don't tell her that. We were happy Max even put his costume on!

Mykah thought an apple was an easier prop than a broom to carry, so she told everyone she was the witch that poisoned Snow White! Clever or lazy?

Trying to fly...Thank goodness he can't, I can't keep up with him as he is now! We were amazed how quickly he caught on to trick-or-treating. Once he figured out if he said "trick or treat" that people gave him candy, he was saying it to anyone around! Lucky for us, he wouldn't put his candy in his pumpkin, so his little hands filled up fast and then was pretty content with his loot!

I love all of your darling Halloween pictures! What is better than a with and superman. . .awesome! I also just saw the gameday tribute on your last post and I have to say it brought a tear to my eye. Wow! did I flash back to the good old days. There is nothing better than fall weather and football! (you know what house I grew up in) That is so awesome that your kids are such a big part of the day. They are building memories that will last forever. (take it from someone who has slept in bleachers and asked their mom for more money for nachos. . . and loved every minute of it!) I wish you were closer to home, but I still love you the same. I am super proud of my big brother and I love ya tons!

Great pics! New York sure looks beautiful. I really love the Fall. And It looks like you had a lot of fun. We didn't carve a pumpkin this year. I really didn't ready to deal with the mess. Great costumes too.

Bye-the-way, you look great. Take care.
